Challenge
The main objective of this project was to deliver a hardware solution covering the requirements of an ERP implementation based on SAP HANA.
Solutions
In the initial phase we analysed the specific requirements of the solution architecture based on Fujitsu Primequest 2800, a server dedicated to mission-critical applications and certified for SAP HANA. It is built on a solution that accommodates up to 4 physical partitions, physically and logically isolated. Each partition is equipped with two Intel Xeon E7-8880v4 processors, with 22C/44T, and 768 GB of RAM.
To make the allocation and administration of storage resources easier and to lower the cost of the solution, a FUJITSU ETERNUS DX200 storage system, certified for SAP HANA, was integrated to host all the HDDs and SSDs needed for this implementation.
Results
We delivered the SAP HANA resources into production: 3 database instances on the productive environment, 4 on DEV/QAS, with full redundancy: two processing blades, two communication blades, six power supplies. We then replaced the dedicated lines between the offices in the country with a VPN on Fortinet technologies, with lower operating costs and better visibility over the whole infrastructure.
